23.11.2023
From November 21, 2023, the animated series “Lost Miracle” has become available as a TV-series on such Russian streaming services as “Kinopoisk” and START. The cartoon is a common project of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra, the Moscow Theological Academy, the Rostec state corporation and the Parovoz animation studio. The film features the wonderful journey of modern pupils into the time of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The series differs from the same-name animated feature film both in form and content. 13 episodes of 11 minutes each is a convenient concept for children, including the very young. Besides, the series contains a number of additional episodes from the life of St. Sergius, which are not included in the feature film, which was released in Russia in the summer of 2022.
During an excursion around the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the kids spot a magic portkey that sends them back to the 14th century. To return home, the children have to pass through the forest, and St. Sergius helps them. During their extraordinary adventure, the kids prove the importance and value of friendship, learn to help each other just in time and become more compassionate and brave.
The colorful cartoon, designed in a modern visual style, is for family viewing. The age category is 6+.
According to priest Anatoly Kolot, who is the editor of “Lost Miracle” and vice editor of the site Bogoslov.ru, the series presents information in “small portions”: “Each episode is based on an adventure of the children, which also illustrates an incident from the life of the Saint. Such approach lets us describe the life of the Saint softly but dynamically, and heighten young viewers’ interest in a good way”.
