On October 8, 2022, the Karusel and Spas TV channels premiere the «Lost Miracle» animated series, produced by the Parovoz studio in cooperation with the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra and the Moscow Theological Academy. The plot is centered on the children’s journey into the past and the life of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The animated series will be shown on TV after the release of the same-name animated feature film.
The plot of the new animated series is horizontal — each new episode continues the previous one. But there is one more line that is vertical — it is dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh. All episodes of «Lost Miracle» show facts from the life of the Saint in a simple and understandable manner for kids.
«Lost Miracle» tells about the adventures of three contemporary teenagers: Dima, Nastya and Gosha, who come on an excursion to the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra. They sneak away from their classmates and go to explore the monastery on their own in hope to find treasures. In the Duck Tower, the children find a magic portkey that takes them to the past. Since that moment, their main goal is to get back home. To achieve it, the friends have to go through the «wonderful forest» in the XIV century, in the days of the Mongol yoke. The Saint, miracle worker Sergius of Radonezh helps the mates.
While working on the project, the creative team cooperated closely with some representatives of the Moscow Theological Academy and the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra who provided meaningful editorial support for the animation project.
The high-speed picture, time-traveling storyline and vibrant animation in a modern visual style will definitely captivate viewers of all ages!
ABOUT THE SERIES:
Director of the animated series Stanislav Shakhov: «The series „Lost Miracle“ is a beautiful, kind and wise cartoon about children and how the journey into the past changes them. Our characters are ordinary modern pupils, who are fans of the Internet and gadgets, but in the magic forest of the XIV century they have to overcome difficult obstacles without using the achievements of the civilization of the XXI century. The adventures that the kids experience help them understand the value of friendship, learn to come to aid each other on time, reconsider their attitude to greed, pride and cowardice. St. Sergius of Radonezh helps our characters cope with the difficulties on their hard way, he instructs the children, teaches them to be kind and generous.
The visual style of the cartoon is as close as possible to the illustration, painted in a watercolor manner. The background images are made in the artistic technique that is based on the sense of canvas and brush texture, which enhances the picturesqueness of the film. We invited artists who are fond of history and are fluent in painting to participate in the project.»
