On September 18, Carousel TV channel broadcasted the 5th Main Charaters-2021 National Children’s Awards Ceremony, in which the winners in 14 nominations were announced. The song «Fable» from the animated series «Fantasy Patrol» won the «Main Children’s Song» award.

Young audience of Carousel TV channel chose their favorite cartoon characters, entertaining and educational programs, animated films and series during several months. As a result, the short list included 42 characters, but just 14 participants won the award statuette, which was called the «Main Characters — 2021».

The whole list of the «Main Characters-2021» winners:
  • The main Russian premiere animated series is «Checkered Zebra»;
  • The main Russian animated series is «Prostokvashino»;
  • The main young presenter is Marpha Koloskova («Food with a bang!»);
  • The main educational TV project is «Everything you wanted to know, but were afraid to ask»;
  • The main entertainment TV project is «Good night, kids!»;
  • The main TV presenter is Tutta Larsen («Food with a bang!»);
  • The main TV presenter is Kalyaka-Malyaka (The Kalyaka-Malyaka Studio);
  • The main plush character is Stepashka;
  • The main foreign animation film is «Soul»;
  • The main Russian animated film is «Horse Julius Big Horse Races»;
  • The main children’s song is the «Fable» from the animated series «Fantasy Patrol»;
  • The main Russian animation character is Krosh (from «Smeshariki»);
  • The main foreign animated series is «Paw Patrol»;
  • The main foreign animation character is SpongeBob Squarepants (from «SpongeBob Squarepants»)

The award is held for the fifth time and it constantly attracts an audience of up to five million people. The Main Characters statuette is the prize that has been awarded annually since 2017 on the basis of the nationwide vote of children.

Animated Series produced by the Parovoz studio won the award a number of times. For instance, «Fantasy Patrol» animated series won the honourable award «The main Russian animated series» twice in 2018 and 2019, while the series «Fantasy Patrol. The Chronicles» won «The Main Russian Premiere Animated Series» award in 2020, and Helena was announced the main Russian animation character.
