Anton Smetankin will take part in the debate “How to talk about science via animation”

On March 30, the Animated Film Association arranges a forum, issued “How to talk about science via animation”. It will be held in the conference hall of ATOM pavilion at VDNKh within the Cartoon Science festival.

The curator and host of the debate is Irina Mastusova – the executive director of Russian Animation Cinema Association.

The debate participants:

  • Anton Smetankin, CEO, one of the founders of the Parovoz studio;
  • Evdokiya Sanko, Riki team, producer of The Fixies;
  • Maria Chernitsyna, Soyuzmultfilm animation studio, chief editor of the development;
  • Dmitry Averkiev, Animation company YARKO, creative producer;
  • Vadim Sotskov, KinoAtis company, CEO.

The following issues will be featured:

1) what scientific ideas and discoveries can be conveyed to a wide audience via animation;

2) how animation can help explain complex scientific concepts, theories and experiments;

3) samples of successful popular science animation, and why they attract audience;

4) prospects for the development of science animation, challenges which the creators of scientific-popular animation projects may experience, interaction with sci-tech institutions.
